GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Caleb Conley was honored on Tuesday with a large procession from Frankfort to Cynthiana, his hometown.

Deputy Conley, 35, was shot and killed on Monday during a traffic stop on I-75 southbound at the 127-mile marker.

Conley served eight years for the United States Army before beginning his career with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, where he served for four years.

He leaves behind a wife and two children. A GoFundMe has been set up to help his family.

Conley’s cruiser was parked outside of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and surrounded by flowers. His funeral arrangements have not been announced at this time.
