RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police is investigating a shooting that took place Friday afternoon in Richmond.

According to KSP, they were called around 5 p.m. regarding a shooting that happened outside a home on Gravel Lick Road.

Initial investigations revealed that Steve Dargavell, 58, and Jonah Skaggs, 34, both of Richmond, were fighting outside the home when Dargavell reportedly shot Skaggs. KSP said Skaggs was taken by ambulance to the University of Kentucky Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Dargavell was later found at a Dreyfus Road residence, where he was taken into custody.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS

He was booked into the Madison County Detention Center and charged with:

  • First-degree assault
  • First-degree wanton endangerment
  • Third-degree terroristic threatening

The shooting is still under investigation.
