LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Pope Francis is now an honorary Kentuckian of sorts after he was presented two items near and dear to the hearts of the state’s residents; a University of Kentucky basketball signed by John Calipari and a rare bottle of Old Vintage 1995 bourbon.

Father Jim Sichko, a Lexington native and Papal Missionary of Mercy, presented the items to the pope while on a visit to the Vatican.

The items were returned to Father Sichko. He has since brought them back to the bluegrass where they will be auctioned off. All funds will go toward tornado relief in western Kentucky.

Father Sichko said the pope is praying for the people who were affected by the natural disaster.
