LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – University of Kentucky police are investigating a threatening call on Thursday evening made to Boyd Hall, the same dorm where a now-former student was accused of attacking a desk clerk while using racial slurs.

A University of Kentucky spokesperson said an email was sent to UK’s resident advisors and residence life desk clerks notifying them of the call. UK spokesperson Jay Blanton said the call, which included a racial slur being played on a loop, came from outside the state.

Blanton said the number was immediately blocked.

The school is encouraging staff members to call UK Police if they receive similar calls in the future. The university is also offering resources and support to the person who answered the original call, according to the student-run newspaper.

The call comes following a Nov. 6 incident where UK student Sophia Rosing is accused of assault after officers reported her “very intoxicated” and repeatedly using the N-word to “a group of black females.”

Rosing has since withdrawn from the school, according to her lawyer. In addition, UK’s president said she is permanently banned from the university.
