LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Investigations are underway after a vehicle crashed into a creek in Lexington, resulting in two deaths.

The Lexington Police Department said they received a call at 9 p.m. Wednesday regarding a car submerged in a creek near Delong Road.

Lexington police, the Fayette County coroner, and an accident reconstruction team were dispatched to the scene.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office confirmed two individuals died as a result of the crash, 32-year-old male John Mitchell Potter II and 24-year-old female Shelby A. Stocker, both Lexington residents.

According to the coroner’s report, both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Delong Road near Collier Lane.

The Lexington Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
