LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Since the announcement of its arrival in October 2021, many have wondered where Lexington’s new pro soccer team, Lexington Sporting Club, will play.
On Friday, the club announced a multiyear partnership with Georgetown College to temporarily call Toyota Stadium home until the club builds its own stadium.
Lexington Sporting Club will be updating the facility, including new artificial turf, as it prepares for its first season and home opener on April 8, according to a news release.
“This partnership will allow us to install the same playing surface that is located in SoFi and AT&T stadiums in the NFL,” said Brian Evans, GC Vice President for Athletics.
The 5,000-seat stadium currently serves the college’s football, soccer, and lacrosse teams and was previously the home of the Cincinnati Bengals’ Summer Training Camp.
