LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A woman has pled guilty in connection to the 2019 shooting death of LaPorschia Stringer outside of Fayette Mall, court records indicate.

Police reports said Stringer was shot and killed inside her car in August 2019 at the intersection of Nicholasville and Wilson Downing roads. Lexington police arrested Markeeta Campbell on Aug. 31, 2020, and charged her with murder in connection to the shooting.

According to court documents, Campbell’s charge was amended to manslaughter. She pled guilty to the charge as a part of her plea deal.

Campbell’s sentencing is scheduled for May 26. Her recommended sentence duration for manslaughter is 13 years, per court documents.
