LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A suspect is in custody after Lexington police said a woman was stabbed on Main Street.

The Lexington Police Department said officers responded around 1 a.m. Wednesday to West Main Street for reports of a woman suffering from stab wounds. She was transported to an area hospital and is expected to recover.

According to police, the suspect was located near the scene and taken into custody.

Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or expected charges.
