DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 56) – Down by as many as twenty points in the second half, Eastern Kentucky made a furious rally to have a shot at the final buzzer to send yet another College Basketball Invitational game to overtime. Tayshawn Comer’s shot hit every part of the rim before slipping out, as EKU fell to Charlotte 71-68 in the championship game.
The Colonels (23-14) were led by senior Cooper Robb’s 17 points. He hit five three pointers, while Michael Moreno hit four en route to 14 points.
Aly Khalifa scored 20 points for Charlotte, who finishes the season 22-14.
