RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 56) – For the first time since 2014, Eastern Kentucky football will be trying to get to Frisco, Texas, site of the FCS Championship game. The Colonels will host Gardner-Webb in the first round of the playoffs on November 26th at 5:00 p.m.
EKU (7-4) clinched an automatic bid after beating Kennesaw State 45-38 on Saturday.
The winner of the first round game will go on the road to face No. 5 seed William & Mary on December 3rd.
EKU is third all-time in FCS history with 22 playoff apperances, with two championships coming during the Roy Kidd era in 1979 and 1982.
