GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Georgetown College women’s basketball team won its first two games of the season by an average margin of 40.5 points. That strong start continued Thursday night against Brescia University.

The Lady Tigers picked up another win, 109-36 the score in David-Reid Alumni Gym on campus. They jumped out to a 21-3 run early in the game and took a commanding 54-10 lead at halftime.

Georgetown had five players score in double figures, with AJ Stevenson leading the way with her 18 points and five three-pointers made. Cassie Colon and Jazzmyn Elston each had 11 while Crace White and Callie Jackson both tallied 10 points.

The Lady Tigers defense swarmed Brescia’s ballhandlers from the opening tip, racking up 23 steals and forcing 36 turnovers overall, then turning that into 52 points off turnovers.

With the October schedule wrapped up, Georgetown (3-0, 0-0) is back in action on Nov. 4 traveling up to Morehead State for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
