LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Excitement is growing for the upcoming basketball season, and in three weeks, things heat up. The men’s team will travel to Pikeville to play their annual blue-white scrimmage game. The game will be held at Appalachian Wireless Arena on Oct. 22.
The game will be in eastern Kentucky to continue the university’s commitment to raising money for recent flood victims. “We’re excited to be able to come and play for the fans of eastern Kentucky,” UK head coach John Calipari said. “This is a unique opportunity for the people in our state who have been affected and we hope we can provide a temporary escape with basketball and community engagement.”
All ticket revenue will go to those affected by the floods, and the team will be in eastern Kentucky doing community service work before the game. There will be a pregame fan fest outside the arena. The game will tip off at 6 p.m.
Ticket information will be announced at a later date through Appalachian Wireless Arena.
