2 vehicle collision leaves Nicholasville woman dead
Lexington police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred Saturday on Winchester Road.
Railbird announced its festival lineup on Tuesday, but tickets are now sold out. On Thursday, Railbird opened up for ticket sales at 12 p.m., but by 3 p.m., they were sold out. Saying on Twitter, “Y’all went for the gold and SOLD OUT #RailbirdFest 2023! See you down in Lexington this June.”
There’s a strong sense of hope that one day things will return to normal in Bowling Green. On Dec. 11, 2021, an EF-3 tornado slammed across the city and took 17 lives with it. Dozens of homes were destroyed, and even after a year, many are still not rebuilt.
The city's mayor Tom Prather said contractor mistakes and a math error by hired consultants have cost Georgetown millions of dollars. But Councilman David Lusby said he has a solution that could pay for a new water treatment plant without being such a drain on the taxpayers. Lusby is hoping to soften the blow after people living in Georgetown are being asked to absorb a 58% water rate hike over the next five years.
A historic decision was made by the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday, signing The Respect for Marriage Act which federally protects same-sex marriages. The House Vote was 258 to 169, including all Democrats and 39 Republicans voting in favor.
