LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The heat and humidity will be the big story today. Highs will climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s, but when you factor in the humidity it will feel hotter.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for parts of southeastern KY that were hardest hit by flooding where people have lost power and A/C. Feels-Like temps 95-100 across the entire region this afternoon.

While most of the area stays dry this afternoon, a few pop-up showers/storms are possible. Rain chances ramp up on Thursday afternoon as a cold front approaches.

The front hangs around Friday and Saturday increasing rain chances. The atmosphere will have increased moisture during this time, so heavy rain will be possible. We’ll have to keep an eye on streams and rivers as flooding could be a problem.
