LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Grab the umbrella today because you are going to need it. Showers increase around Noon with more widespread rain in the afternoon and early evening. Temperatures will be on the milder side with highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s before falling this evening.

As the colder air moves in the rain will change to snow northwest to southeast across Kentucky this evening. In the Bluegrass the change from rain to snow will occur between 6 and 9 p.m. and after that into southern and southeastern Kentucky.

We’re looking at a general 1-3 inches of snow with this system with a swath of 2-4 inches possible across the Bluegrass and just to the south. The snow wraps up early Thursday morning with really cold temperatures for the end of the week.
