LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A partly sunny to mostly cloudy sky prevails today. The fall preview continues with low humidity and temperatures reaching the mid-to-upper 70s.

Pleasant temperatures again Tonight with lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s with some passing clouds.

Southwest winds return on Thursday, bringing higher humidity and warmer temperatures in the low to mid-80s. Expect a partly sunny sky through the afternoon. By evening, scattered showers will be possible as a cold front works through the state.

Behind the scenes, we’ll get another taste of fall air on Friday. Temperatures warm into the upper 70s and lower 80s with lower humidity.

A heat dome starts to build east on Sunday leading to highs around 90. That’s just the beginning as hotter temperatures in the low to mid 90s stick around into at least the middle of next week.

There are indications the heat starts to break down by the end of next week.
