LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — It’s going to be a mild and windy day across the Bluegrass with temperatures making it up into the mid-70s under mostly cloudy skies. Those winds will gust over 30 mph.

Then The Next Big Thing moves in overnight tonight through Saturday. Rounds of Heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely.

Friday most of the area is under a level one risk for a few isolated severe storms. Our southwestern communities are under a level two risk.

The main threat is heavy rainfall which could cause some flash flooding. For that reason, our northwestern counties are under a flood watch.

Most of central Kentucky could receive 1-2″ of rainfall. The highest totals will be to the northwest near the Ohio River.
