LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Yesterday’s cold front has moved south, and lower humidity will continue to push in through the day on a northeast breeze. Expect hazy sunshine due to wildfire smoke, but we’ll also have a few passing clouds in the afternoon.

Light winds, a mostly clear sky, and low humidity will allow temperatures to drop overnight into the 40s for most.

Another nice day is ahead on Friday. Humidity remains low, but temperatures will be a touch warmer.

The Next Big Thing is a cut-off low that we’ve been tracking all week. It’s poised to lift closer to us over the holiday weekend bringing our next chance for showers. The first chance comes on Saturday, but that’s a slight chance and most should be dry.

On Sunday the low gets closer bringing moisture into the state. That’s our best chance for showers, especially in eastern Kentucky.

Guidance shows the low starting to move away on Memorial Day, but spotty showers are still in the forecast for now. There still is some uncertainty with the track of the low, which will affect rain chances. Stay tuned as we track this closely.

All indications are that next week is going to heat up, so enjoy the pleasant temperatures for the next few days.
