LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Expect more clouds than sunshine across the state today with showers and storms developing during the afternoon and evening.

It will be warm and breezy with highs in the 70s, possibly hitting 80 in a spot or two in eastern Kentucky.

A cold front sweeps through Tonight into the wee hours of Saturday morning bringing the best chance for rain. By sunrise, the widespread rain should be out of the area.

It will be a much cooler day with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Partly sunny to mostly cloudy conditions continue into the afternoon with scattered showers possible.

A general 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch of rain is possible by the time the rain wraps up on Saturday.

Clouds should break-up Saturday night allowing temperatures to fall into the 30s with areas of frost possible. A better chance for frost and a freeze comes Sunday night into Monday.
