LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Rain is moving across the area this morning ahead of a warm front. This will cause ponding on area roadways and reduce visibility. By mid-morning things trend drier for a few hours.

A line of strong to severe storms will move across our area between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The storms will be out of our viewing area by 6 p.m., with some scattered showers possible into the evening.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the area under a level three risk for severe weather.

The greatest storm threat is damaging wind gusts, but isolated tornadoes are possible.

Even outside of storms, it’s going to be very windy! A High Wind Warning is in place for most of the viewing area until 10 p.m. Tonight.

Wind gusts over 60 mph are possible, which could bring down trees and powerlines.
