LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Drive carefully on the roads this morning because there are slick spots, especially on bridges and overpasses. Snow showers and flurries will gradually come to an end giving way to a partly to mostly cloudy sky in the afternoon.

Temperatures stay chilly with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
With a mainly clear sky and a lighter wind overnight, temperatures are going to get cold. Expect lows in the lower 20s with some outlying areas in the teens, which will lead to a hard freeze. Cover your plants!
Wednesday starts off cold, but a warming trend gets underway during the afternoon thanks to lots of sunshine and a southwesterly wind. Highs climb into the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Even milder temperatures are in store for the area on Thursday, but we will see increasing clouds as our next weathermaker approaches.

A cold front brings rain to the area late Thursday night into Friday, mainly during the morning.
