LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — 80+ was a common theme across the Commonwealth on Thursday. We’ll see one more day with toasty temperatures before we fly into a cool, wet, breezy weekend.

Overnight temperatures will drop into the mid-50s under a clear sky. We may see some areas of patchy fog develop closer to sunrise on Friday.

Friday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with high temperatures jumping to near 80 again in the afternoon.

A cold front will be working into the state late Friday that will increase clouds and start some breezy winds before rain falls overnight.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS

The best chance for rain will be overnight Friday into early Saturday morning. Scattered rain showers will continue through midday as the cold front passes.

Temperatures will drop into the 60s on Saturday, and highs will struggle to reach the upper 50s on Sunday.

Winds will gradually turn to the west-northwest and become breezy at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. Sunday will be the breeziest day of the weekend, but you’ll notice the chilly winds all weekend.

Rainfall totals won’t be impressive either, as spotty rain chances will be possible Sunday and into the first few days of next week. We’ll see a trace to 1/4” over the entire event, with dew-isolated higher totals possible, as always.
