LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Holy cow it was windy Wednesday. A few gusts topped out over 50 mph with the Blue Grass Airport hitting 55 mph around 2 p.m.

Peak Wind Gusts from Wednesday

Those winds will slow down tonight, but the breeze does not completely leave. Wind speeds stay howling from the west tomorrow at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Forecast Wind Gusts for Thursday

Temperatures nose-dive down into the 30s where they will stay all day Thursday. Wrap-around moisture will bring us more light rain chances Wednesday but as temperatures fall, we will see some snow squalls develop for Thursday.

Quick bursts of heavy snow will lead to minor accumulations on grassy and elevated surfaces. Not everyone gets snow and not at the same time, but the chance of some isolated banding is likely.

A trace to 1” of snow is likely with some areas seeing a bit more. There may be some isolated slippery spots if snow sticks.

Temperatures settle in the 20s late Thursday before a rebound to 40 Friday. Saturday looks like the nicest day of the weekend back toward 50 with some sun.
