LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — After a dreary day Sunday more rain is expected overnight and into Monday.

Tonight expect widespread rain showers in central Kentucky with a few scattered showers across southeastern Kentucky. It will feel much cooler too, with overnight lows falling into the mid-40s.

The cold front will work through Monday with rain mainly in the morning and a few scattered showers especially across eastern Kentucky into the afternoon. Highs on Monday will only reach the upper 40s to around 50 degrees.

Then it turns cold just in time for Halloween. A Freeze Watch is in effect Monday night until 10 a.m. Tuesday as widespread frost is likely with lows in the 20s for much of the week ahead.

Trick-or-treaters should be dry but prepare for cold weather with temperatures in the 40s falling to the 30s and windchills possibly in the 20s.

After the hard freezes for much of this week, temperatures will be back near average next weekend.
