LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Finally fall! This weekend will finally give us the sweater weather you’ve been waiting for. Temperatures are going to run 10 to 15 degrees cooler than average, it’s going to be breezy, and we even have to talk about the wind chill factor a little bit as frost rolls on Sunday.

Let’s get into it.

First off, the winds will be breezy as they flow in from the northwest behind yet another cold front that falls through the region overnight Friday.

Low temperatures will dip into the 40s and wind chills will be in the 30s early Saturday.

Saturday we’ll only warm into the upper 50s. It will be tough to break into the 60s, but it’s not completely out of the question.

A fun note: London is hosting Honey Bun Day where they will try to set the record for most honey Buns eaten at once at p.m.pm sharp. The forecast looks cozy and breezy.

Saturday night into Sunday, the coldest air will filter in. This will push lows down into the mid-30s for some leaving the threat of frost early Sunday.

Plants should be covered or brought inside if you’re not ready for them to take the hit yet. We will only warm back to near 60 again Sunday afternoon. The breezy winds continue 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Beyond the weekend, a weak wave may bring a quick rain early Monday then we slowly warm back towards average into the middle of next week.
